Help students create, develop and pitch their own unique business product or service.

The purpose of an Enterprise Day is to introduce students to the idea of working for themselves and starting their own business. Using the input and experience of volunteer entrepreneurs we get students to work in a team to solve a challenge that they see in their community, using a business idea to do so.

The day is a chance for them to learn more about business, namely the 5 Ps of Product, Price, People, Place and Promotion, and to have a go at creating a business idea. Each group of students will create their own miniature business plan and pitch it to the rest of their class, the winning idea from each class then goes on to pitch to our panel of entrepreneurs, with an overall winner being declared who may then be invited to a further event later in the academic year.

As a volunteer, you will inspire the students to explore creative ways of solving problems and empower them to see their own ideas as viable solutions for the issues that matter to them. Your role is to act as a guide for your groups, helping them to understand what it takes to turn an idea into a real product and taking them on the first step of seeing this as a potential first step in their own entrepreneurial journey.
